CHALK announce EP 'Conditions II' with new single 'Claw'

CHALK's 'Claw' is a riveting fusion of Dublin's guitar intensity and Belfast's hardcore dance scene.

Released via ever reliable tastemaker's Nice Swan Records, CHALK, who recently won the ‘Best Live Act’ prize at NI Music Prize, manage to capture the essence of their reputable live performance in their latest offering. The gripping single stands out, showcasing the band's prowess in blending post-punk and electronic elements seamlessly. The ferocity and sweat-soaked atmosphere of both scenes are palpable throughout, making this release a compelling exploration of musical contrasts and synergies.

Ross Cullen explains: “Claw is about falling in love inside a nightmare. There’s a mixture of loss and relief that we wanted to capture. Subconscious feelings are at the crux of most of our tracks - something that we started on Conditions EP. We still feel like we’re in that universe of figuring ourselves out as people and using our sonic palette to make sense of it. There’s still a few feelings we want to explore and staying in the world of Conditions is something we’ve grown to enjoy - we don’t want to leave just yet”.

The three piece are geared up nicely to grip 2024, with a debut appearance at SXSW in March, before their biggest UK headline tour to date later that month.
